Over 3 months for appointment by the same Hartford health group...as indicate accepting new patients... then receive a call a 2 days before actual appointment, Front desk inform me Jean-Michel Oquet,MD...won't be in the office due an Emergency won't be until Sept. 2026. Misleading to attract patient to new staffer on the medical field... Nurses practioner,etc. Had no other options to accept at the previous appointment, since my prescriptions is running out of refills. For my surprised on the Wall board appears that Doctor was in seeing his patients,Not New one's.

I would love to share my experience with Dr. Jean-Michel Oquet. Since moving from Hawaii, he has been incredibly supportive and attentive to my son, who is 25 years old and on the autism spectrum. He has strong experience working with adults with autism, which truly shows in the way he cares for his patients. Over the years, I have seen many doctors for my son, and I can honestly say he is one of the best. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly dedicated. If you are looking for a doctor in Connecticut for an adult with autism, I highly, highly recommend him. I hope this helps other families looking for the right support.

Dr. Oquet is an excellent doctor. He has been able to take care of my high BP and diabetes when other doctors didn’t even tell me I had a problem. He basically saved my life and I will forever be grateful . When he left Norwalk , I followed him to Stratford , because no other doctor I have ever seen , had made me feel understood, and not judged.

Dr was cool but beware. They book a “patient visit” that patient is responsible for paying. He’s one of the very few that do this. My job covers my yearly physical 100% and since my original Dr left the office I needed to book an appointment with a new Dr obviously. So I just picked randomly who is in network and called. They told me I’m a new patient and booked visit. Met the Dr said hi and he said he will put order in for bloodwork and depending on results I’ll go back. Ok fine. I get results and everything is fine and no issues and nothing needed. They book another appointment and then I see him and he checks vitals again and go over briefly results. Then I get a bill saying first visit was a new patient visit and not a physical appointment and I’m responsible for payment. If I was aware of this I would’ve picked another Dr. It’s a real good way to get at least 2 apportionments from a patient especially when not needed. I wrote letter of disapproval and went on deaf ears. I called office and told them all the insurance needs is a “code” change on the bill and they said they can’t do that because the code is right. So whatever I paid the damn bill but will never go there again.

First time a doctor sat and discussed everything with me and sent me to get x-rays right away when I waited five years for my other doctor to do it feel like I’m in good hands now
